A letter can help to demonstrate that you are sincere in what you are writing and that you are putting some thought into the matter.While it is important to have publications and letters on your resume, they aren't always mandatory. You can also leave out writing publications in the resume, as long as you can prov ide information about your accomplishments and skills.
